Scholarships for Medical Students at UT Southwestern

The budgeted cost for an unmarried student to live in Dallas, pay basic living expenses and attend Southwestern Medical School is just over $20,000 per year. Consequently, by the time of graduation, 80% of the medical students are in significant debt. Last year, to help defray the high costs of their education, Southwestern Medical Foundation provided scholarship awards to medical students at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School of approximately $200,000. Every year, the Foundation is able to support these students thanks to generous donors who either endow or make annual gifts to support need-based or merit-based scholarships.
